Help create food security for our tamariki

Garden to Table teaches tamariki where food comes from and how to grow, cook and share fresh kai.

1 in 4 New Zealand children don't have enough to eat.*

New Zealand has one of the highest rates of students missing meals in the developed world. Teenagers experiencing food poverty are achieving up to four years behind their food-secure peers academically*.

The gap starts early but so can the solution.

Garden to Table is more than just cooking and gardening — it teaches us skills for the rest of our life.
— Aparna, Year 4 Student

$40 gives one child a full year of Garden to Table education — learning to grow, cook, and nourish themselves. Your donation helps us train more teachers, expand our resources and bring the programme to more schools.

I like the way the children cook food they have never tasted before and then take this knowledge home with them. In our parent survey, a high number of parents requested it as a programme that must stay.
— Garden to Table Principal

Your donation goes even further before 31 March.

For every dollar you donate to Garden to Table before 31 March, you can claim 33.33 cents back as a tax credit.

A $100 donation effectively costs you just $67.

Give from kindness - and get your tax back.

Help us reach more schools. Give a child food skills for life.

The impact of your support

Today, over 300 schools across Aotearoa New Zealand are involved in Garden to Table.

That’s over 33,000 tamariki who are learning skills that will stay with them for life, creating a more positive and food-secure future. Thank you for helping us reach more tamariki this year.

Ngā mihi maioha - thank you!
