Sharing with family, sharing with friends, sharing to support Kiwi kids’ learning.

You know that Garden to Table teaches kids to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables.  But did you know that our programme is integrated with the New Zealand curriculum? This means kids can learn subjects like Maths, English and Science while they also learn real-life skills in the kitchen and garden. These essential skills and this knowledge builds resilience and empowers kids, helping them to thrive.

In response to the Garden to Table community wanting a fun opportunity to share Garden to Table with an audience larger than their schools, we launched our garden parties a couple of years ago.

2020 saw our garden parties scuppered by Covid-19. This year we have produced a FREE resource to inspire you to have a Garden Party, with helpful ideas to plan it - no matter what the circumstances. We have everything from a Garden to Table vegetable quiz to educational ideas and recipes to get you started.  We would love for you to host a garden party, as a fundraiser for Garden to Table.

If you choose to have a garden party of your own we'd love to see some snaps, so be sure to tag Garden to Table on social media if you post them!

Garden to Table ambassador Dan MacKay had a garden party 'in his bubble' enjoying a broccoli, beans and chicken stir fry around the fire pit for an early autumn dinner with the whānau. Yum!  We're told the kids did even better than Dad on the vegetable quiz too!

Money raised from donations for Garden to Table garden parties will help us train and support primary schools throughout Aotearoa to begin, and deliver, their Garden to Table programme. With your help, we can make sure the next generation understands where their food comes from, how to grow it, prepare it, and enjoy sharing it, learning skills they need to sustain and nourish them for a lifetime.

Host a garden party:

Your hosted garden party could be a small gathering of four friends or a party for 50 – it's completely up to you.  How you choose to plan, decorate and arrange your party is completely in your hands.

You don't need to have your party in a garden - the spirit of Garden to Table can be brought to the room with flowers or greenery for the table and delicious seasonal food.

Perhaps you'd like to host a garden party at your workplace?  The possibilities are endless.

Whether your party is big or small, every dollar raised is crucial to our work.  Your support means that kiwi kids learn essential life skills in their school garden and kitchen that they then take home!

Dominion Road School student Kalepa put it best:

"If everyone could do Garden to Table,

imagine what a world that would be."
