Our Supporters: Grant Thornton

Like us, Grant Thornton has a bold purpose.

As one of the world's leading organisations of independent assurance, tax and advisory firms, they’re on a mission to help dynamic organisations unlock their potential for growth.

Here at Garden to Table, we consider ourselves lucky to have been one such organisation to receive invaluable support from the expert team at Grant Thornton.

This year, they’re generously backing our upcoming Spring Appeal. Throughout September, they’ll be helping match all donations dollar for dollar, so that we can support training of Garden to Table school staff.

But, their support goes much deeper than that. Since June 2021, Grant Thornton have been supporting our team behind-the-scenes, most notably, by conducting our annual audit.

Plus, every week, their team get out and about in school gardens and kitchens around the country, where they volunteer their time to help local tamariki learn how to grow, harvest, prepare and share good food.

As parents of Garden to Table students, several of their team members have also been able to see the impact of our food education programme beyond the school gates.

Director Sam O’Connor tells us “it has been such a pleasant experience watching my daughter learn about where her food comes from, how to work as a team and how food can bring people together. Garden to Table has had such a positive impact on her and has given her confidence to not only help cook dinner and try new foods and meals but also encouraged us, as a family, to grow our own fruit and vegetables”.

Stephanie Jeffrey’s - Director of Financial Advisory Services agrees.

“My daughter ate food she wouldn’t normally try which was great since she was quite a picky eater beforehand. I love the fact the kids do the whole process from gardening to preparing food and cooking. Garden to Table has meant both of my children now cook more at home”

Ngā mihi maioha, Grant Thornton. We are so grateful for your kind support, and are inspired by the difference you’re making every day.
