Weleda helps children discover the world beneath their feet

Did you know that soil is one of Earth’s most important natural resources?

Filled with rich nutrients and microorganisms, healthy soil not only provides the ideal environment for kai to grow and flourish, but it also aids human health, and helps to mitigate climate change.

Here at Garden to Table, teaching tamariki about the importance of soil has become a core part of our food education programme.

Now, thanks to our brand-new partnership with Weleda, we'll be able to teach all of our ākonga (students) around Aotearoa about the vital role soil plays in our ecosystem.

Like us, Weleda - which is a world-leading manufacturer of certified organic and natural skincare and medicines, is passionate about healthy soil.

As a certified B-Corp, Weleda holds environmental stewardship and protection at their heart. They are committed to protecting biodiversity, growing plants with care, and nurturing healthy soils - something which is also reflected in the Garden to Table programme.

This year, we are thrilled to be partnering with Weleda and their support will help our team to create a selection of new resources, set to teach kids all about soil, and ensure the importance of soil is passed on to the next generation.
