Garden to Table is Celebrating its 15th Year!

Garden to Table started way back in 2009 meaning June marks the start of the 15th year of the Garden to Table programme in New Zealand schools. We’re kicking off a whole year of celebrations, gratitude and acknowledgement which will run until Matariki 2025!

Firstly, we are delighted to share our special birthday logos beautifully designed for us by Vibeke Brethouwer. These logos will be visible throughout our birthday celebrations and later in the year you may even be able to get your hands on some 15th birthday-themed merch.

Throughout the year we will be reflecting on some of the key events and milestones of our 15 years in schools. We’ll also be catching up with past and present Garden to Table staff and students to see the impacts the programme has had. We’ll acknowledge some of our key supporters and champions who have made the programme what it is today and of course we’ll have some fun. There’ll be parties, giveaways, open days and lots of stories to share. It’s going to be an action-packed year!

As we enter our 15th year we are honoured and humbled to have the support of both our Patron Her Excellency the Right Honorable Dame Cindy Kiro and her husband His Excellency Dr Davies.

The festivities began last week with a reception hosted by Dr. Davies at Government House in Tāmaki Makaurau – Auckland.

In attendance were many of our key supporters, sponsors, friends and model schools as well as the Garden to Table staff and Board of Trustees. It was a beautiful evening filled with smiles, kai and connections - a perfect Garden to Table experience.

We look forward to sharing more with you over the next year. Here's to 15 years of tipu (growth), hauora (health), and hapori (community), with many more fruitful years to come!
