Our Annual Bake Sale is Back!
Garden to Table is thrilled to announce the return of our annual Bake Sale, this year proudly sponsored by My Food Bag! In 2025, 75 schools across Aotearoa will participate during Bake Sale Week, taking place from May 5th to 9th.
Tamariki will showcase their culinary skills by creating garden-inspired treats, such as lemon muffins, kawakawa biscuits, and our popular 'See in the Dark' Anzac biscuits. Previous years have also seen schools get creative with herbs, honey from their bees and all kinds of fruit preserved from the summer months.
Funds raised will directly support each school's Garden to Table programme, providing essential resources like kitchen equipment, garden tools, seeds, and ingredients. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of My Food Bag, participating schools will receive a printed copy of Nadia Lim and Bargain Box's amazing Saver Flavour Cookbook as well as special offers and kids cooking inspiration. Plus, schools go in the draw to win one of 10 free My Food Bag weeks to give away, raffle off or use in their Garden to Table programme.
This initiative not only empowers tamariki to develop practical skills in growing and preparing food but also fosters a deeper connection to their kai and community. We encourage everyone to support their local school's bake sale—it's a delicious way to contribute to a meaningful cause!
