Dig for Victory launches at Parliament
We had a very exciting morning at Parliament, planting the first 'Dig for Victory' gardens. We were delighted that the Speaker, Rt Hon Trevor Mallard, supported our suggestion to dig up the parliament lawn for a productive vegetable garden, showing that you can grow vegetables anywhere! 'Dig for Victory' was a successful wartime campaign that reignited vegetable gardening across New Zealand. We're hoping to do the same in 2019, together with support from Parliament, the American Embassy, the Royal NZ RSA, and local schools. The gardens will be tended over the winter so, if you're in Wellington, you are welcome to stroll through and have a look. We'll be celebrating with a harvest event later in the year, so stay tuned!
