Growing a better New Zealand with Rabobank

Since their establishment in the Netherlands 120 years ago, growing and strengthening communities has been at the heart of Rabobank’s mahi. The agribusiness banking specialist exists locally to support farmers and growers to produce great food and fibre sustainably. It is passionate about ‘Growing a Better New Zealand Together’.

Today, we are thrilled to welcome Rabobank as our first-ever Principal Partner.

Rabobank's Client Council themes speak to their commitment to helping communities thrive across areas including education, health, and sustainability. These themes and Rabobank’s core values overlap with our priorities of hands-on food education, championing kaitiakitanga and everyday environmentalism, supporting health and wellbeing, and connecting communities through kai.

We look forward to building upon – and amplifying – our shared values through this partnership.

We celebrated the beginning of our partnership in true Garden to Table style. Together with some of the Rabobank team, we took part in Dominion Road’s Garden to Table programme alongside our awesome students.

After a few words from Garden to Table’s CEO Ani Brunet and Rabobank NZ’s CEO Todd Charteris, we headed to the garden and kitchen with the kids and got stuck in!

On the menu was Vegetable Makhanwala, a curry using carrots, potatoes, pumpkin, and onion harvested from the māra kai (garden). The curry was served with rice salad made with corn, mint, carrot, and parsley (also from the garden). It was all finished off with Garden to Table’s Kawakawa Biscuit recipe.

Through it all, the Garden to Table tamariki were able to recap their recent learning around kitchen safety, while exploring how to add flavour to dishes through the use of herbs and spices.

Looking ahead, along with providing valued support for our Trust that will help us expand our work across the motu, Rabobank’s support will help us develop resources including championing food waste and financial literacy.

We couldn’t be more grateful or excited about our Principal Partnership!

Ngā mihi maioha, Rabobank!
